In-house Course Details

Welcome

Thank you for your interest in our course, Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods.

Course Materials

Required course material includes the latest edition of our textbook, Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods, 17th Edition, by Stermole, Stermole and Pederson.  A digital version of the Problem Solutions Manual will also provided.

Course material will be shipped to the course sponsor’s mailing address approximately one month prior to the course start date.

The following course material will be provided to the course sponsor, to be made available to each participant:

  • PowerPoint Presentations (PDF)

  • Problem Solutions (Excel)

  • Self Teaching Manual (PDF)

How to Prepare + What to Bring

Pre-course study of the PDF Self Teaching Manual is strongly recommended for all course participants, especially persons who have not been previously exposed to engineering economy concepts. The pre-course material is an introduction to Chapters 1–3 of the textbook and will be covered in Day 1 of the course.

Laptops with Excel are the best option for problem solving during the course.  Spreadsheet functions will be discussed with the goal of reducing time spent on calculations, enabling participants to focus on the meaning and application of results.

Room Requirements

The course sponsor is responsible for all room arrangements, which should include a classroom-style setup (not a boardroom), computer projector, large screen and a 4’ x 6’ writing surface or two flip charts placed front right of the screen. The entire course presentation is in PowerPoint for which we will bring our own laptop. To facilitate an appropriate working space, we recommend no more than two people per six-foot table, or three per eight-foot table.

Registration

Courses are limited to 25 participants.  Once the course length and dates have been agreed upon, registration is complete.
